Treatments Offered at Surfside Chiropractic

We offer many different natural health therapies and techniques here. These are just a few of them. Remember, all of the techniques we use are to treat your pain or other symptoms at their source and alleviate them from there, so they don't come back.

Here are a few of our most popular techniques:

The Palmer College Technique--The Palmer College Technique is a suite of techniques taught at Palmer College, the nation's original chiropractic school. The techniques in the package include Diversified, Gonstead, and Thompson Drop Table.

Manual Disc Decompression--Using gentle traction methods, either with a special machine or with pulling and stretching by one or more chiropractors, the space between the vertebrae can be expanded. With this expansion comes a negative pressure that allows the out of place vertebrae to naturally fall back into place. When the discs are all in place, where they are supposed to be, pain is relieved, range of motion is restored, immunity is strengthened, and overall health is restored.

Trigger Point Therapy--This involves applying pressure to tender spots in muscles to loosen them up and help relieve the pain they are causing. The pain caused by these tender spots, which are also known as "knots," can be quite severe, and is one of the top causes of disability and loss of time from work. Used either on its own or combined with massage therapy, trigger point therapy loosens, breaks up, and heals these tender points, or knots, and gives you your pain-free life back again.

Pediatric and Geriatric Methods--We can treat both pediatric and geriatric clients effectively and safely. These patients usually require a more gentle touch than traditional chiropractic adjustments allow. We can accommodate this by using a special hand-held tool that applies just the correct amount of pressure to misaligned vertebrae without twisting or pushing on the patient. In fact, it is done sitting up, and the patient usually doesn't feel a thing except better.
